Day 327 – Tuesday

The girls rented bikes this morning from the campground.  They were just low to the ground 3 wheeled recumbent bikes called “Banana Bikes” that looked like a lot of fun to ride.  You swing side to side in your seat to stear them right and left. In reality small recumbent bicycles are hard to petal uphill and Dad had to do a lot of pushing.  Luckily it was only a 30 minute rental (my best decision of the day).

The girls really did enjoy the bikes and said they wanted to rent them tomorrow but, I’m not so sure that’s a good idea.  I really got a work out running all over the campground today

Did I mention that I’m losing weight on this adventure?  The constant activity has me down roughly 15 lbs. from the day I left NY last June.  We are biking, hiking, walking everywhere and even working in swimming once in a while. I also feel less stress on a regular basis and I believe that helps as well.

Lately, with the new home purchase, the upcoming traveling plans and other items related to camping, I feel a bit more pressure but, I wake up everyday excited for the day so I must be doing something right.  I also have my birthday coming up on Friday the 29th.  That’s got to make anyone smile. It’s kind of hard to celebrate your birthday “properly” in quarantine but, I plan to do my best.

I always find a way to make the day special and I’m sure my family has some type of surprise up their sleeve.  Whatever that suprise is, they aren’t talking about it. So, either they aren’t doing anything or they are very good at keeping it a secret.  I hope it’s the later and either way I have everything I need right now.  I mean who can complain when the next 2 months of your life involves traveling 2000 miles across the mid-west to see everything that this beautiful country has to offer and then moving into a beautiful house in Flagstaff.  My life couldn’t get any better unless they found a way to cure COVID-19.

I count my blessings everyday and never take anything for granted.
