Day 147 – Papa and Grandma Ft Lauderdale

Yesterday was a travel day from Sanibel Island to Ft Lauderdale. It was about 3 hours which wasn’t too long of a trip.

They are so cute and furry and when you give them the special food that you receive by putting .25 cents in the vending machine they come right over and gently take the food out of your hand.

We left by 11:30 and and I had enough time to get up early with Sydney and go to the local beach. It was only about 10 minutes away. Before that Sydney requested that we feed the spider monkeys that live at the resort.

The drive to Ft Lauderdale was uneventful which is always a good thing. No real traffic and no issues with our rig. In fact it’s been smooth sailing ever since we left NY June 30. For that we are all super grateful.

When we arrived at our site- it’s a state run park so we you never know what you’re going to get- we decided to keep our bikes locked up. Yeah. It’s that kinda park.

We did take a ride over to the local playground but the kids weren’t as friendly as we had hoped so we decided to return home and get ready to head over to papa and grandmas for a quick visit before we retire in for the night.

We thought it would be fun to spend Thanksgiving with them before we head south to the keys and then out west!!

Not to mention today is their 54th wedding anniversary so we got to spend it with them!

This trip is turning out to be more meaningful than I could have imagined. We are visiting dear friends along the way.

Tomorrow we’ll talk all about our Ft Lauderdale adventures. Xx
